So I am wondering what the least painful way of getting the wiring harness moved so that one has access to pull and replace the cam/intake manifold.

On the HG job I did a while back, I disconnected the 4 or 5 connectors on the passenger side and pulled the harness off the firewall and draped it over the drivers fender. Gave plenty of access, but a bit of a PITA to do and reconnect.

There are some posts here, where people mention just taking the wires out of the harness "trays" and tying them up to the windshield wiper arms. That sounds interesting, but I'm not sure I see how there could be enough slack to get them fully up and out of the way (or did they still disconnect the passenger side end of the harness).

I was hoping that some of you who have done this a few times might suggest what method you have found best.

TIA

I use zip ties or pieces of individual wires from 10 or 12 gauge rome's which can be bent easily and attach to base of wipers without undoing any connectors that don't otherwise need to be removed but it is a tight squeeze . I debated last time about undoing all the connectors from passenger side and passing it over

Thanks TBK4. I assume you took the wire bundles out of their "trays" to tie them up. Might be a wash on time, taking about as long to remove and replace the wires in the harness trays as to undo those connectors on the pass side.
