PRICE DROP! $3750

I have for sale a 2006 CRD with 104,000 miles on it. I bought it and have nothing but trouble with it and I’m tired of throwing money at it. Bought it in ’13 and dropped a valve in less than 10,000 miles. Last year I sourced a “new” used engine with 130,000 miles on it and went through it doing all the standard upgrades. New head gasket, ARP studs, rockers, silicon intercooler hoses, Weeks stage 1 and 2 kits, DIY EGR delete tune, new 7V glow plugs, new MAP sensor, battery. Head was cleaned and checked at a local machine shop before reinstallation.

Jeep currently is throwing an overboost fault which puts it into a limp mode with no boost. I have replaced the MAP and bypassed the vacuum solenoid with no luck. Based on those results everything points at the turbo being clogged and not responding quick enough. I have attempted to pull the turbo and clean it but it did not help. I do not want to buy a new turbo or have it rebuilt so I am selling it as is. Body is in very good condition and has been sitting inside a garage for the last 5-6 years while I tried to work on it. Located in Plymouth, Indiana and am asking $3750 for it but I’m open to offers.

I'll post pictures tonight but its black with gray cloth interior. Little to no rust and just minor dents and scratches on the body.

Sorry for the delay on with the pictures. I just went ahead and set up a craiglist ad for it as well since it was easier to upload photos to. I also want to note that it does have a new Napa AGM battery and Husky rubber floor mats.

What do the other gurus think does this sound like a blown turbo? Wouldn't overboost be caused by waste gate issues? Not dumping the extra boost or something.

No one wants to buy a basket of lemons but all the upgrades sound nice. So EGR is deleted? Is there any indication of intake cloggage or things like that?

Was there ever any signs of the infamous shudder/torque converter issues?

Thanks

FYI: The 2.8 CRD engine in the Jeep Liberty has NO Waste-gate, it has variable vane geometry turbo technology and boost is totally controlled by the ECM via a vacuum controller. :P

I have checked all the other items that can cause the overboost condition and the last thing I’m down to is the turbo. It sat for sometime and I think the carbon buildup just caused it to not move as freely anymore. I attempted to clean it out myself with no luck. There are some good options out there for replacement but I’m done putting money into it.

EGR has been deleted and turned off via a diy tune from here. I never had any signs of shudder while I drove it. The upper intake has less than 2000 miles on it while the egr was still running. I bought a new one while I doing the rockers at 100k.
