In the beginning years of CRD procedure for changing timing belt included removing the whole water pump not just front portion, so I never did this but I recently had to to replace this hose

That also connects to this nipple

What a pain to replace. Luckily I noticed a slight leak from here just before doing a head gasket replacement and repaired it at same time otherwise would have been over 5 hours just to replace it.

HINT: I think it would be prudent for anyone removing rear timing cover to check this hose as possible and replace then if needed.

I know I felt of it on a couple of my others and I am surprised one of them isn't already leaking maybe it will last to next TB but I doubt it. I am sure total age is a large factor also.

I also didn't locate it easily at ID parts etc ( I didn't call them) online molar sites etc. It is a molded 90 degree bend short hose. I just took original to Napa and got something close to cut down. Maybe you could replace it with Water pump in place but I believe its easier with it off.

My old 1993 Dodge D250 Cummins had a similar 90 degree bend hose in the heater system.

I already had manifold loose so I got the lower rear nut back on water pump housing from above . I would really hate to do it with manifold on.

I did find a listing at ID parts later for it but it said discontinued and no listings at Rockauto, but it wasn't hard to find an acceptable replacement hose.
