I have a whining noise coming from the right side that is puzzling me. It starts at 45 MPH and it decreases to almost non existent when I let off of the gas pedal... any ideas? Sounds like a train

Not ignoring you, I just don't have any great suggestions if right front maybe axel cv joint or possibly hub bearing but going away with less fuel application seems opposite of most things. At least this will bump it back up. Does it change with turning one direction or the other? Does anything change if it is in 4 WD ?

I think you will find it to be the CV joint almost directly under the driver's taint will have failed. It's the rear joint from the transfer case to the front differential (propeller shaft).

Mine was different, no noise at throttle, started thumping after no throttle... replaced right CV and still made some noise... ended up being front diff to CV fitting had worn fitting too.
