Here is pictorial of how I make a "weeks kit" using the tubes that will be removed and it still looks original. This illustration is for exhaust manifold side and is done without removing manifold as would be needed to thread it. A similar procedure needs to be done to the tube from flow control valve to EGR and remove the butterfly in the FCV (flow control valve)
first remove the pipe from exhaust manifold that goes behind engine then put it in vise like this and flatten it
https://imgur.com/Bk1dZ0E https://imgur.com/IBPsykFthen move it up further in vise and flatten some more like this
https://imgur.com/GOgj8dathen bend about 90 degrees in vise like this
https://imgur.com/B3zwVmqthen continue bending , its easy now like this
https://imgur.com/nZboNmUthen cut off with cutting wheel or hack saw and it looks like this if you hack saw I would do it when bent 90 degrees I used cutting wheel and it looks like this
https://imgur.com/UuupmJMThen hammer flat onto itself like this
https://imgur.com/KffheI3Then to make 100 % air/exhaust tight seal with something round like a coin/quarter (not a coin/quarter because that could possibly be construed as defacing US Currency) similar to this
https://imgur.com/d5Y8SO1and seal with high temp gasket maker like this
https://imgur.com/VCInGoBThen replace on manifold and it appears stock like this
https://imgur.com/LCbTbbpDo same thing to the tube on flow control valve
Plug the coolant pipe hole in side of head and get I believe 5/8 to 5/8 inch nipple at lowes etc to replace the y when you remove pipe across front of engine with something like this or buy similar parts at lowes etc.
https://www.idparts.com/egr-cooler-cool ... -4809.htmlAnd there you have it a home-brew weeks kit that looks stock (of course for off road use only) and while doing this put studs like weeks kit on FVC to Intake connection and more easily removable. One drawback the FVC is still there and still must move for better access to some glow plugs etc.
