Today my daughter hopped a curb (on purpose), and after my jeep lost almost all power; minor acceleration with the pedal to the metal. if the ESP light came on, it was only momentary, and engine light never came on. She stopped and restarted the jeep twice, but power remained lost. After 5-10 min of that, I shut her down for a full minute, and she seemed back to normal after restart. ESP issue? Fuel supply? Tank was half full.

That is, obviously, a function of the ESP system. Why it remains after regaining "traction" I'm not sure. Just as a test, push the "ESP Off" button on top of the column and try repeating whatever caused it to happen before. If it still does it, it may not be the ESP and could actually be a fuel issue or otherwise.

Keep us posted...

The ESP function should not affect the running of the engine at all. I have one with a short to speed sensor that causes light to come on regularly with certain turns etc and engine functions normally. Others, I believe in the recent Front control Module/ gateway discussions have stated ESP etc will have no effect also.

I would favor a wiring short or loose connection somewhere or perhaps as you suggested temporary air in fuel as the culprit
