I love this jeep so much, not a lot of people say that about these crd's but this has been such an amazing vehicle. the PO did the GDE tuner and its awesome, great mileage and never gave me a single issue in the 100k that I have owned it. Now I am up to 180k and having my first issue, I am getting some shaking while driving it. It happens when accelerating up to highway speeds, goes away at certain speeds, but then comes back when I take my foot off the gas. my first thought is motor mounts (at least 100k on these, maybe never been changed) and when I say it shakes its like a solid vibration that shakes the entire vehicle. I am still driving it, just not an enjoyable drive. I have been reading and it does not match the other symptoms that others have mentioned when their motor mounts need replaced. Just not sure what else it could be to make the entire truck vibrate like it is. Any Ideas? Maybe I should start with motor mounts and move on from there?
First thing to check is the U-joints on the driveshaft. I don't believe engine mounts will cause the symptoms you described on this vehicle.
Have you checked all your tires good and close? What you are describing is a rotational vibration so you want to look at everything that is rotating when going down the road.
Another possibility although rare is the torque converter is going bad, internal clutches going bad and coming apart.
But check all the things you can lay your hands and eyes on first.
