Hello there, I have a problem with my gearshift idk why but its neutral position is more or less where the 2 gear should be.
My old mechanic told me that he needs to change almost all the transmission and idk, to me it seems like he's trying to scam me.
The car drives fine, and it shift gears relatively well for a 13 years old manual trans.

It's a common issue?

My car is a Jeep Cherokee KJ crd limited edition 2.8 2006.

The US model CRD s all have an automatic transmission so most here won't be able to give you much insight. If you don't get response you might try email or PM to Layback40 who I believe is in Australia or Billybob in South Africa and maybe others like Yetti etc but they may not have a manual either . Sounds in general like it could be shifting fork to me though.
