Does anyone have any experience with and OBD2 scanner that will monitor live data and put it in useful information. I know that some scanners seem to work better than others on certain vehicles, and our little crd does seem to be picky. My main sensors I want to monitor is boost and temps.

My recommendation would be for an ELM327 Bluetooth Adapter, the Android device of your choice, and the Torque Pro app. Been using this combination for about a decade and recommend it strongly. Torque also has a free version, but it's more than worth the $5 being asked for it.

What info are you looking to pull from the ECU?

I'll second the Bluetooth adapter and torque pro. I have a Bluelink MX, but I've heard the $12 ones work just as well. (I already had mine).

There's a catch though. The ECU randomly stops communicating. Mine will work fine for 5 to 20 minutes. A hard acceleration tends to trigger it and it won't reconnect until I shut everything off, unplug the adapter and wait a few minutes.

If you're testing something it's fine, but I don't recommend relying on it (any obd2 data on any tool) instead of actually installing gauges.

I have iOS but the wifi elm will work and they are some highly rated apps. I just wanted to make sure the $13 elm devices worked with these libertys. I am mostly looking for temps and boost pressure currently, I am not using this is a gauge replacement, just don't have the funds to do a gauge install currently. I just got the TC done so I put on my hot tune and wanted to ballpark my boost pressure.

Yep, it should be fine for that. Just don't expect to get transmission temperatures that way - some people have claimed to have success reading it via OBD-II, most others (myself included) haven't.
