Looks like IDParts has come up with a kit for replacing the worn out fan bracket bearing.

I am glad to see them offering an alternative since new ones are no longer available.
I still have the ability to rebuild your hub with three larger bearings at less cost than the ID option.
Free shipping is included in the price to anywhere in the US.
I have two rebuilt units currently in stock for immediate delivery and am working on rebuilding another one I just got from Canada.
$50.00 core charge upfront which is refunded when I receive your hub or send me your hub and I will rebuild it and return it to you, no core charge involved.
Normally a two day turnaround except for weekends.

Interesting that their unit has a circlip on the back & a grease nipple.
Would be interesting trying to get a grease gun on it!
Looks like they have found a bearing with the correct OD. It probably has a different ID & that is why they provide the new shaft/pulley.
The pulley looks much lighter.
I wonder if the bearing is the one that was mentioned to me as being one used by New Holland on a farm equipment application.

Very cool that they made this effort!

A few years ago I went through hell doing a DIY repair to my mech fan bearing. It worked fine, but I opted to go [Derale] electric. The hp gain of removing that big honking iron mech fan hub is very satisfying.

Their bearing replacement kit is def way easier (& notably cheaper) than going electric, but folks should be aware that they have options.

Again, it is outstanding that they made this happen.

What Derale fan did you use? I hadn't considered going electric over concerns about volume, but a success story is inspiring! Did you look at the factory gasser fan at all?

I have a robust 2-speed puller [18"?] activated by both the [included] gasser fan-circuit plug and a dash-switch; it produces cyclonic volumes of air. Additionally, I installed two dash-switched 9" pushers; one mounted on the trans cooler the other on the AC condensor.

I started another thread (a year ago?) detailing my elec fan-mod adventure. At that time, I had my machinist ready to fab a small run of replicate drop-in brackets to mount conventional serp pulleys in place of the chunky mech fan hub. However, nobody here on LJ expressed any interest. I'm relocating imminently so that ship has sailed.

After I complete my ball-bearing turbo conversion I'll update my elec fan thread with PN's, fab work/costs, etc.
[I'd ballpark $400 for entire Derale replacement main setup; another $200 for add'l two-fan overkill]

None of that changes the fact that if a mech-fan bearing repair kit had been available I likely would have just fixed the mech fan. Tragically, the deeper you get into custom work on one system the quicker you are to subsequently waste more time and money modifying other systems. Pathetic addiction.

Buy ID's repair kit & fix your mech fan.
Drive your jeep.
Enjoy Life.

If you have a bad fan hub bearing, I can rebuild it for about half the price of the repair kit.
PM or email if you need one.

WW: have you sourced a robust sleeve bearing that is the length (+/-) of the mech fan bracket's tube?

My solution was a couple of $6 sealed bearings, one pressed into each end and spot-welded to retain:

This solution worked fine for the <5k miles I drove before going electric, but I can't say I felt "road-trip" confident.

I suspect you've got a better fix.
