Does any one knows about this truck? This morning I took my 05 CRD to the dealer for replacement of the ceramic glow plugs(7V) with metallic ones (5V), work that I can not do in my drive way with the present weather, and while waiting I ran across an article in the "MOPAR The Magazine", issue 5 - 2019, that describes the Camshaft Installation for a "2009 Dodge Nitro 2.8L 4 Cyl. Turbo Diesel". The procedure looks a lot simpler than ours, and the camshafts are synchronized between them by gears rather than the belt. There is only one sprocket connecting one of the camshaft, the intake, to the crankshaft sprocket with the belt, and the gear behind synchronizes with the other camshaft gear, the exhaust. The only special tool that they mention is a VM.9991 used to lock the camshafts at 90`ATDC. I did notice that the picture of the truck in the article appears to have been taken in an European city, based on the street lights and traffic signs in the background. Just curious |

I was in Paris for a work trip back in August and I saw one. Looked just like a US Nitro but had the CRD badge similar to the Liberty on the rear hatch. Other than that I don't know much. |

This is the next generation 428 , I think it is called a RA428 . The head is different & the water pump is on the other side. It has a higher pressure injection system with the more modern injectors. I dont know if FCA sold the KK diesel in the USA. |

The XJ was sold all over the world with a VM425 engine. Even the latest jeeps sold can have diesel engines. Probably you could find them in Canada. Many jeeps sold in Australia have diesel engines. |
