I have a used mid shaft and cv shaft from the junk yard for the right side of my crd. What kind of anti seize if any should i use on the splines? I had to give up on removing the existing hub as it was seized on the splines. I don't want to go through that again. Thanks Sent from my LG-H831 using Tapatalk |

I personally just like the copper infused type a little better since that is what we used on our large steam turbine parts during rebuilds when I worked at the power company. The nickle based is not quite as good as the copper type in my opinion, but certainly much better than not using any. |

Fun facts, which I learned pretty recently: Nickel is the highest temp rating, but can damage soft metals Silver and copper share a lower temp rating, but copper will not hurt soft metals and is electrically conductive. If you don't need the super high temp rating and you aren't worried about damaging soft metals and you don't need electrical conductivity, you can use any of them. (Reason I looked this up recently was to be sure I was using the right stuff on exhaust studs.... nickel!) |

The copper anti seize is the only one that works... in alaska we used antisieze by the bucket and I can tell you the nickel based or aluminum based anti seize always had corrosion issues like stuck bolts or hard to remove parts, the vehicles I used the copper antisieze on came apart like a dream. It was bad enough on POW island that if you didn’t antisieze the wheels half the time it took a sledge to get them off, but with the copper it was awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That is why we used bucket fulls of the copper based Anti-Seize on large steam turbine bolts, studs, etc.., metal parts subjected to over 1000 deg. F sometimes for 5 or 6 years between overhauls. Great stuff! I got several cans of it in my shop right now and use it on anything than needs protection from galling or corrosion. |

I thought in Alaska you just got buckets of bear Grizzly Whizz? If you want it to come apart, use that stuff. If you want it to stay together mostly, use locktite. If you want it to stay together forever... Use corrosion! |
