Sounds like you need an aftermarket trans cooler. Cut off the crimp portions with a Dremel tool being careful not to cut into the rubber lines at the factory trans cooler and slip them onto your aftermarket cooler and double clamp it. Lots of discussion on what, how, and where to install one when you search.
I installed a 10"x9" B&M trans cooler with a thermo controlled fan inline with my factory cooler and installed on the drivers side radiator stack next to the factory electirc fan. Only place I could think of since I have an ARB bumper taking up all the forward space. The B&M already has a temp probe to turn on the fan when the fluid reaches 180 degrees and I also have it wired so I can manually turn the fan on if I feel the need to for additional cooling.
