I can pick up a nice set of leather seats from a 08 KK for $200. Guy says he would throw in the back seats too. The fronts are power and heated. My 05 sport has manual seats. Based on past posts, it looks like I can make the fronts fit and swap over the pressure pad on the passenger seat.

My question is how can I make the power adjustments work? Heat would be nice but isn't neccessary.

Any thoughts on the rear seat?

Thanks!

Not sure of the 08 seats, but I did put 06 seats in front of my 05. not a big deal at all. no heat but power controls. the harness is already there under the carpet so it was pretty much a plug and play. again this was 05, 06 years, cant imagine there is much difference. im sure someone else will give you the lowdown. this site rocks.

Well, I bought the seats for $180. Downloaded a service manual for an 08 KK and have figured out a few things. There seem to be three flavors for driver seat position adjustment in the KK - manual, power and power with memory. I ended up with the power with memory (most complicated :? ) I was able to bench test both the driver and passenger position adjustments, so I know where to supply power. The wiring to supply power is available under my driver seat, but I think I need to procure and install a circuit breaker in the junction block to activate it. More to come, I'm sure, and any advice is always appreciated.

Nice find. I'm looking at having to have our KJ's front seats (leather, power & heated) restuffed, and it's going to cost about the same as what you paid for the KK ones. Would love to have the fold-down front seat.

If you figure anything out with the seat position memory, please let us know. Given the difference in height between my wife and I, it's something I would *love* to have in the KJ. My suspicion is that it's probably tied to to the KK's BCM so has no practical way to be made working on a KJ, but anything's possible.

I completed the swap on the front seats a couple weeks ago. The rear seat was an absolute no go. The 60/40 split on the KK is on the opposite side than the KJ making the brackets not even close. My son is making good use of the rear seat as a couch in his room.

The power functions all work and no airbag lights on the dash. I'll get some pics and some more install details posted up hopefully soon.

Thanks to flash7210 from LOST and BluPhant from JeepKJ and their posts linked below, the install was mostly a step by step.

https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/how-to-add-leather-or-power-seats-to-a-kj.25651/

Overall, the seats are comfortable, and I love having leather. The power adjustment feature wasn't necessary, but beggars can't be choosers. I was surprised that even in their lowest adjusted position the seats sit quite a bit higher than my KJ seats did. I'm 6-1 and with my lift and larger tires getting in and out is now a minor climb. I've gotton used to the higher seating position, and I still have a few inches of head clearance in the cabin.

To avoid airbag and seat belt light problems, I transferred all of the KJ's wiring and connected items to the KK seats. This included the passenger occupancy sensor air pad thing, the drivers side female seat belt latch and the passenger side seat belt tension sensor (where the seatbelt connects to the passenger seat). To keep the looks consistent, the KJs passenger side female seat belt latch was transferred too.

Adding a circuit breaker (pn 56021543) in the junction block at the spot labeled "Circuit Breaker #3" in the FSM, activated the power wire under the drivers side seat. With the old seats out it was easy to run a pair of wires under the console to power the passenger seat. I won't go into the gory details of the wiring on my particular version KK seats, but a KK service manual and associated wiring diagrams was a must for this project.

Here's the passenger side showing the new power wires and the carpet trimming. Had to trim similarly on the drivers side. The brown wires are for the power seat adjustment. The black wires are for someday if I want to mess around with the heated seats feature.

An unexpected twist with the power seats were the bolts protruding under the mounting brackets associated with the motors.

Image

A bit of drilling and hammering was necessary on the front inboard passenger side to be able to accommodate one of the bolts.

Image

I also had to make up a spacer to keep the the passenger side seat belt tension sensor from being crushed (sorry pic doesn't really show the spacer).

Here's the finished product.
