So I modified my t stat housing to take a 192 degree stat and it’s been running great with it. The needle sits straight up 12 o clock now under normal driving. However today was towing my small trailer and noticed after a long climb that the needle was up a bit higher than I had seen. It was at about 2pm. Is this normal? I didn’t hear any extra fan noise or anything, although I never have so I don’t know if my fan clutch is even operable honestly. |

Did you have the AC running while you were towing? If so, you were probably at around 215 F. The factory temp gauge is practically useless. It will give you a overheat warning though. And engine will try to save itself by reducing fuel and power. |

Yes ac running and 82° ambient. The trailer is low and light though, can’t even feel it but it’s probably 1000# as it sat today. I guess I need to get the torque app going. I was having trouble getting engine read outs and don’t even know if that’s possible or not. |
