Anyone brave enough to measure V on pin 2 of the OBD port with the key in the on position, and then at an idle? With a healthy a no check engine lights (no hard faults) jeep. If you are, make certain your meter is set to the 20volts DC range for both measurements. Please use one of the bolts on the door or under the dash as a ground so I have an apple to apples comparison. *Caution! Only do this if you're confident that you know what I'm talking about. A resistance (unlikely) or current (very likely) measurement could fry one of the control modules! Long story short, my PCI Bus is not talking... |

Just to make totally sure as to what you're looking for a measurement from: ![]() By 'pin 2', you're referring to the one marked, "SAE J1850 BUS+" in the picture above, correct? Just double-checking since there's room here for frying things. |

OK, here's what I measured: Key in 'run', engine off: 12.4VDC Key in 'run', engine on: 14.4VDC My ground point was the frontmost bolt for the driver's seat on the side next to the transmission tunnel. 811 ECU, no faults stored and no MIL illuminated. |

Many thanks! I have about 1 volt in either state... I'm surprised my jeep runs! |
