Do you have the 2006 Service Manuals?

The bottom of the Index page has the DTC index where you can look up the error codes you have and hopefully be directed to what can be done to fix the problem.

I think the solenoid pack would be most likely.
Is it possible that the transmission is overheating?
What was the condition of the fluid when changed? Was it a normal red color or was it brown/black and smelling burnt?

Could also be the torque converter and/or transmission pump.

Thank you flash7210
I don't know if at the time of the problem, the transmission overheated
the condition of the fluid was normal red color

Giacomo,
I've just been through the same problem. See my posts above. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=91467

Basically very similar symptoms, wouldn't surface until run for a good hour + under load. Then limp mode, stop for 5 minutes, and it would reset. Only to kick back in within 15-30 minutes.

First repair was a torque converter, spring kit, and tranny cooler, but problem returned. Back to the shop for a reman valve body and new solenoid pack, problem gone. My tranny had been rebuilt by the PO about 2 yrs ago before I bought it. When pulled for the TC, the shop had a good look at it, said all gears and pump looked good. The switch that throws the "overheated" code is apparently in the valve body and not serviceable.

$2700 later I've now got a tranny that drives like new, and after a couple of months and close to 3k miles, I'm happy with the result. It's proving, knock on wood, to now be a reliable unit.
