I'd be throwing 1/2 a can in every tank. That's only about .5%, and I'd still be adding about the same of Marvel. Knock on wood, that approach seems to be working on my TDI after 60k,
and the Jeep I've only had for 6k, just turned over 250k on that, the TDI is soon to hit 190k.
Halving my next decade of mileage between the two of them, 68 now, hopefully I've got my last vehicles.
The Golf should ez make it to 300k, whether or not the CRD will make it that far remains to be seen.

I agree with you with the VWs, I have '04 Jetta BEW PD injectors with 500.000km on it. I've been dumping all these fuel additives and using Chinese fuel filters and replacing them every 4 years. now going to CRD is a different animal, common rail system. so again like I said after trying to clean my injectors with Howes meaner cleaner and jaming up injector control valve I stopped doing that and I installed 2 micron filter system and I've been only adding stanadyne fuel additive, hope this helps.

rankom,
I agree that going to the 2 micron setup has got to be good for a CR system. Got other more urgent priorities on my CRD at the moment, glow plugs and a better thermostat. Even with better filtratrion, I'd still be putting in some additives, and if I had a case of Quicksilver 2 stroke, I'd certainly be using it.

Just be sure it is Non-synthetic 2 stroke.

On the Cummins forum I frequent they specify that it needs to be TW-3. Why, I don't remember...

I believe you mean "TC-W3"?
The TC-W3® oil standard is a performance-based qualification program. The requirements include various bench tests for fluidity, miscibility, rust, compatibility, etc.
Once lubricants have demonstrated the necessary lubrication performance qualities needed for TC-W3® certification testing by NMMA-approved laboratories, NMMA licenses those two-stroke lubricants to be marketed to the public.

All the pumps here say they blend in 5 to 20% biodiesel. Based on my reading even 2% biodiesel blend significantly increases lubricity. That's probably good enough for me.

Yes, TC-W3, thanks.
