Post subject:  Front Drive Shaft

I had bought a new drive shaft maybe a year ago and it just recently failed on me (the boot broke and it’s flung out all of its grease). Did I install the part wrong or is it just because I bought a driveshaft that was $150?
Any feedback would be appreciated thank you.

About three years ago, the cv joint on my original front drive shaft wore out. I initially replaced it with a "cheap" replacement cv joint. It was properly installed and lubed correctly. It did not last for a 5 mile test drive before it failed. At that point I ponied up and spent the money (large) for a new OEM drive shaft. I may have gotten one of the last ones available from Chrysler. Same story with the front axle half shafts.

If you only need to replace just a busted driveshaft CV joint boot, you can order new boots from DriveShaftParts.com: (See PN's w/pictures below)

If you need to replace the whole CV Joint & Boot assembly, they can be ordered online from DetroitAxle.com
