I’m going to attempt to remove my CAT but I wasn’t able to find anything online any tips on what to do?

I posted on your other thread.

Best to get rid of the CAT and the choke point right in front of it if you can.
Replace all of it with a piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe and never look back.
Your engine and turbo will thank you for it!

So you have a straight pipe from in front of the CAT? I love the idea and totally value your judgment. Is it too loud? Any other significant change good or bad? In VA they don’t test diesels for emissions so I should be good to go.

Stright pipe from in front of the cat back to the Flowmaster straight through muffler.
Sound is nice and mellow and can only be heard if windows are down at very low speeds.
Windows closed, no sound can be heard and no drone at any speed. :D

In front of the new muffler install a clamp so you can drop the pipe from the turbo when working on it. It doesn't take long to drop the trans cross member to remove the down pipe and put the bracket back with two bolts. If you have the down pipe off for some reason put exhaust wrap on it from the turbo down to the flex pipe. I bought motorcycle wrap as it is 2" wide and 25' in length. Made it easier to wrap the bend buy the turbo. The stainless zip ties aren't long enough so you will have to put two together or do like I did and buy longer ones.

They make a tool for the zip ties too: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304145850033

Here is what I used from my clamp:

WWDiesel, what effect did the Cat delete have on your mileage? Were you measuring turbo temps to notice that too?

synthetic-oil, where did you have to use that v-band clamp? Looks like the one at the turbo outlet?

Have no idea on the mileage as it always seems to be good with the Yeti tune.
Don't have a EGT gauge, but I am sure it helps lower egt's a little when under full power pulls uphill.
It did seem to help with turbo response (turbo lag) in quicker turbo spool up when pressing the go pedal. :D

I put it about where the two bolt clamp is, about 6" or so in front of the new muffler.

So this can be done without any welding? Cut in front of the CAT and at the other side of the OE muffler? Then install new muffler and pipes and use clamps?

Point is, is any welding needed?

Any good muffler shop can make you a piece of 2.5" straight exhaust pipe and flare it on one end to slip over the stock 2.5" head pipe after you cut the pipe in front of the CAT two bolt connection which is a choke point. Once you slip the new straight pipe over the cut off head pipe, you can put an exhaust pipe (2 3/4") clamp on it to secure it. See diagram
Muffler should be a straight flow through type with 2.5" inlet & outlet. Center inlet, offset outlet. Depending on new muffler length, you may have to add a short piece of pipe from the muffler outlet to connect the OEM rear tailpipe it you plan to keep it in service. :)

The V-Band Clamp will need to be welded
