Hey guys! Been building up my 06 CRD and have noticed the fuel efficiency kinda sucks now, especially compared to my last jeep. Is it just because of my mods? Or is there something else I can do to improve it?

My Rig: 20-24mpg
GDE Eco Tune
weeks kit
Thermostat mod
3.7 airbox
heavy-duty rebuilt transmission
suncoast tc
lifted 3"
245/75/16s
big roof rack

Old rig: 28-32mpg
GDE Hot tune
EGR delete
euro tc
sasquatch turbo
rest is pretty much stock

What kind of thermostat modification do you have?

Strange... your new rig has the GDE eco tune... it should provide better fuel economy than the old rig, which has the GDE hot tune.

That 3" lift does not help, nor do the oversized tires.

Yeah, big tires and a lift can seriously hurt economy. I put 33s on my old Suburban and went from 18mpg highway to 15. Whoops.

That said, it's hard to know what bad fuel economy is without knowing what type of driving. And, for that matter, what type of climate... fuel economy can tanks in the winter.

When I put 3 inch lift, bigger tires and ARB bumper on my jeep I lost around 3-5 mpg.

You can read my sig for my mods, but I'm averaging around 22 mpg with 75% city 25% highway. Not as good as I would like but nothing ever is!
