 Post subject: Head off TDC

This may seem like a silly question but I took the head off without the pins in. I am going to install the head soon and I am assuming all three pins can only go in one way is that correct?

No, it's possible to put the fly wheel pin wrong, It can be 108 degrees out.

Also with all the pins in properly I think you will be 90 degrees past TDC.

So the two cam pins can only go in one way, where are the pistons supposed to be when it is locked in?

all 4 pistons will be at half travel if you have the crankshaft in the correct 3:00 position and pinned as shown below and described in the Factory Service Manual.
