Unfortunately, while at a stop light, the light turned green and I proceeded into the intersection and the young driver opposite me turned directly into me. 2005 CRD with over 162,000 miles on it. I have had it for 11 years and love it. Looks like mostly front end damage but insurance is totaling it. Not surprised. If anyone wants it or wants parts from it, let me know. Otherwise I will let the insurance company do its thing and it will likely end up scrapped. I am in Dayton, Ohio. Pictures are here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ecHb6Nj4gpx95tcT9 If you want more information about the vehicle let me know. |

Bummer! Looks fixable to me but expensive. Crazy design to put the huge wire bundle right up front. I hope someone saves it from the scrapper. Lots of good and rare stuff there. |

If you part it out, Please let LOST members know, there are several very hard to obtain parts that should be removed and kept for future needs by current owners. Wish you were closer, I would purchase it if the price was right, damage does not look that bad, love that green color. |

That is 99% plastic, one fender, and an external transmission cooler. What a shame to let them have it, that is completely fixable. You can argue with the insurance about the value which will also change their calculus - the KBB value is NOT accurate (it's way low) b/c of the engine, the diesel is worth more. The engine is likely worth more than what they are valuing the entire body at! If you aren't into fixing it yourself, or you absolutely cannot get the insurance to leave the title alone (branded titles are a major detriment to the value of a vehicle) then there MAY be members who are interested in buying significant pieces from it. DO NOT LET THEM JUST TAKE IT FROM YOU! Parting one out might take a bit of time, but you have an advantage in being centrally located in the country. There is a member in SC who experienced a dropped valve a few days ago, and needs a cylinder head. He might even want the whole thing. I will send him a link to this, but you might also want to post on the Facebook CRD groups: https://www.facebook.com/groups/libertydiesels/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1597881963568464 |

Sorry for your experience but glad you are ok it was only a "fender bender". Very tempting and not that far from me. I like that green too. I got mine in similar condition from my dad. Paid the insurance co their $445 and rebuilt it for a few thousand more. Since it stayed in dad's name until we transferred it doesn't have a rebuilt title. BTW, the tow company tried HARD to talk me out of buying it back and warned me of all the "unkowns", they knew it was an easy fix with no structural damage. I don't remember that huge wire loom up front though! Any wires pinched or broken? |

Man, I'm sorry to hear that... I like the color too!. If it didn't get the frame or anything CRD specific it shouldn't be hard to fix. Maybe they'll fix it, or you can find someone to do so! I'll say that Covid along with the driving/logistics of getting it here at the moment make me not all that interested. We also don't have a price yet, if it's too cheap to pass up and no one else can get it I'll be tempted... Also might make a difference to me/others here if you can store it/how quickly it needs to be moved. Looks like it can't be started/moved because of that broken cooler line too... I'll be watching! Hope it works out well for you however it goes! |
