I installed the lift pump on my crd and after I finished installing it and took out for a spin the gas gauge does not work anymore. I was looking at the video on Git It Garage but the pump that he got from Sasquatch and the one I got are different. Might be because his is 2005 and mine is 2006, but I was looking at switching the floats but don’t want to break anything

Did you check to make sure the float arm was moving smoothly and that the contacts on the arm was making contact with the "resistance" board on the assembly?

When I did mine, I had to swap over the float arm, wires and the resistance board to the new fuel pump assembly since the one I got, the contact tabs were broke off. Tested the fuel gauge before I reinstalled into the tank and works perfectly.

Or

Did you get the wire harness too? The harness that goes from under the drivers side rear passenger seat, with a through grommet out to the fuel tank and speed sensors. I made my own from an 04 gas liberty and just spliced in 2 wires for the pump power and moved 2 wires for the fuel gauge. Good how-to in the tech section: viewtopic.php?f=98&t=86136

I got the wire for the pump that connects to the 2 speed sensors and I just finished checking it and no luck so ima see if I can switch the float arm. The float arm on the new one is moving freely so we will see

Update

I switched the old float from the old pump and it worked. I also made sure the connections were extra tight and the ground screw was extra grounded. So it works now thank you .
