With an intank lift pump properly installed and wired, there should
NEVER be any air trapped in the fuel lines leading up the CP3 injection pump unless you installed a new non-primed fuel filter.
With the intank fuel pump running, there should be approx. a 13-15 psig of fuel pressure head constantly feeding the suction to the CP3 injection pump.
If for any reason, air were to somehow get entrained in the fuel lines and / or fuel filter leading up to the suction side of the CP3, it would be immediately evacuated/forced back to the fuel tank by the Cascade Overflow Valve.
Quote:
Cascade/Overflow Valve: Located on the side of CP3 injection pump.
Provides and regulates lubrication fuel to internal parts of the injection pump and regulates the fuel pressure to the fuel quality solenoid valve on the back of CP3 injection pump.
Also, controls the amount of fuel being returning to the fuel tank via the fuel return line.
