Hi all. I am hoping someone can help me, I am stumped. There is oil running down from the top of front engine cover (where the front main seal is). I took off the cover, inspected it, no holes, put sealant around it, put on new front main seal (might as well considering I had it off). Still there's oil running down the top. I took off the valve cover (figured it could be leaking from there and running down the front), put a new valve cover gasket on and replaced the cam seals, STILL when I start it, there's oil running down the engine cover. I am stumped! I cannot see where the oil is coming from because in order to start it, i need the rear timing cover on.

Has anyone had this issue? any help would be appreciated. I have been stuck home without a vehicle now for 4 weeks and am cracking up.

Thanks,

-J

You might try adding some UV dye to the oil to help pinpoint where it is coming out of the engine.
Note: You have to either have or purchase a UV light to use the UV dye.

The UV dye can be bought online or at most automotive parts stores like AutoZone.
