Depends on the tire size that is on your vehicle, revolutions per minute will affect engine RPM's at a given speed. :wink:
Speedometers are not known for their accuracy. For an accurate true speed reading, you would have to use a GPS.

WWDiesel is right, this information may not be of much use, but I saw this post and payed attention today, so I'll give you some numbers on my Jeep!

My jeep shifts into 5th right at 60mph indicated, so you can run 59 and it will stay in 4th.
59mph indicated, 4th lockup, really close to 2000rpm indicated. (I didn't linger here long)
60mph GPS / 61-62mph indicated, 5th gear lockup, 1800rpm indicated.

Thanks, 1800 RPM. That is what I was looking for. I have stock tires. Mine seems to be unable to go into overdrive as it is taching about 3000 at 60 MPH. The transmission was rebuilt but it has been sitting since for over a year waiting for engine repairs. I drove it to my local shop to get a swap and it was winding out at 3000 RPM. I tried switching the O/D override on and off but it had no effect. It had been so long since I had driven it (plus driving 3 other vehicles meanwhile) I forgot what it would tach at 60, so hence my question. I thought 3000 was way too high. Transmission shop probably didn't do something right, it shifts fine otherwise.
