I am getting a P1202 and limp mode out of no where. OBDFusion says fuel pressure is fine, ~6k idle and 12k+ under load. I can clear the code and its fine and then comes back withing a minute or so, sometimes a little longer. I did check fuel injector #2 wiring at the injector and there was a small break in the wire sheath in a few spots, cut out the bad spots and replace with no change. Un plugged and re plugged all four injector connectors, and the fuel rail sensor. Could not reach the fuel quality sensor so have not checked it yet but looked to be seated. Have not done in major work in almost a year so nothing has been touched. Any ideas where to start?

Have you checked the Fuel Pressure Solenoid (Fuel Rail Pressure Control Valve) located on the end of the fuel rail? Wires, connections, etc...

Sure did, ran cleaner through it today and let it idle for 20 minutes with no error. Revved up to 2500 and then the light comes on.

I am down to either of these, what seems more likely to try first?

HPFP Fuel Pressure Regulator

Fuel Rail Pressure Solenoid

HPFP Fuel Pressure Regulator ???
Fuel Rail Pressure Solenoid (End of fuel rail?)

Please clarify parts nomenclature with location numbers using diagram below to be sure of the parts you are asking about.
Are you asking about parts on the CP3 and the fuel rail or just the fuel rail?

These two parts, they seem to be the most likely culprits but I’m not sure which to try first.

I would suggest the Fuel Quantity Solenoid (preferred name) that is on the back of the CP3 injection pump first. (Item No. 4 on the diagram I posted)
There have been several reports of it going bad in the past, while reports of the Fuel Pressure Solenoid on the end of the fuel rail failing is extremely rare.

Replaced that sensor and still no change, above 2k rpm and after about 10 seconds the light kicks on.

maybe get a helper to keep the rpm above 2000 and you go to wiggle the wire harness and connector at the fuel pressure sensor located at middle of fuel rail. also check all the pins between ecm and connection to the sensor

Ended up being the Fuel Rail Pressure Solenoid. For future reference, I should have said those fuel rail pressures were in park just revving. It now site at 4-5k idle and only 10k at 2500-3000 rpm. Under actual load I get up to 24k PSI. I also am realizing that I was getting a small amount of black smoke on takeoff which I had not had since the GDE tune and what seemed like a bit of loss of power months before this code showed up. I guess it make sense, if the solenoid is stuck partially open it would be too closed at idle leaving the pressure to high and too open under load bleeding off too much pressure. Also when I took the solenoid out there was some rust around the solenoid valve.
