Post subject:  2007 CRD Module fuel tank problem

Hi all,
I have a problem with incorrect indication of the diesel fuel in the tank ( I also hear a slamming noise .... ) , so i think it may be a bad fuel tank sender
but given the difficulty in finding a RL140832AB Module fuel tank I wanted to know if I can mount a FT4015 Delphi pump
problems ?
thank you

Giacomo

IF you are going to all the trouble to drop the fuel tank, why not replace the module with one that has the intank fuel pump?
Carter module is actually cheaper than some of the non-fuel pump modules. All you have to add is two wires from the module to under the rear seat.
Then you are assured of no air in fuel issues going forward. Installing an intank fuel pump is one of the top two modifications most do to their Jeep CRD.

Thank you WWDiesel for the great technical advice,
but it is one thing to spend $ 100.00 for the Delphi FT4015 while $ 127.00 Airtex E7181M + $ 240.00 Lift Pump Harness is another expense .....
so you dont know if i can mount Delphi FT4015 ?

You only have to add two 14 or 16 gauge wires to your existing harness from under the rear seat to the top of the fuel tank.
Add one connector under the rear seat to the current connector and one wire grounded/bolted to the body. The other two tank end wires are added to the connector at the tank module.
The standard 2.8 APEX male and female pins can be ordered individually from Mouser Electronics. Only takes about 30 minutes work to add the proper ends and and add them to the current harness. I used 14 gauge wire when I did mine. Cost to add two wires to the existing harness with the required terminal ends was less than $25 for everything.
You may even be able to source the APEX wire ends locally in your country?

female, 14-16 gauge wire

The Delphi FT4015 module does not have a pump, it is only has a pickup tube and fuel level sensor. (2 wires) See Picture 1
The Delphi FG1224 module has a 12v fuel pump in the housing along with the fuel level sensor. (4 wires) See Picture 2
