Hello,

I've a 2005 that is having trouble reporting a status for the emmissions readiness monitors. I've attempted to read their states with several different scan tools with the same result (errors about unsupported etc.) My state inspection shows them an 'unsupported' and I got a big fat fail for emissions testing.

Has anyone had this experience? This jeep is new to me. It sounds like I may be dealing with the "DCJ flawed program" per viewtopic.php?f=5&t=75128

I'm contemplating renting a DRB III and getting a daily pass to Tech Authority in an attempt to update my ECM to the latest. I flashed a tune from YETI and then flashed back to whatever was in the car when I got it (assuming stock)... I've also flashed the 'stock' 811 tune from the DIY section with the same result.

Any input is appreciated.

This is what I found:
The protocol for emissions testing must be turned on in the Vehicle's ECM in order for aftermarket emission testing tools to properly communicate with the Jeep's CRD computer.
The dealerships and emission testing idiots are straight retards and know nothing about CRD's. I am not even sure if our Jeep CRD's are capable of this test.
Contact Marco Giacomelli aka "Yeti" on this forum or over on Facebook; he probably can explain this.

OBD2's Web site wrote:

    *Exhaust Gas Sensor

    EGR and/or VVT System
(*NOTE:05 & 06 Jeep CRDs do not have these items)

I contacted Yeti but he seemed to think I needed to plug back in the systems to get the monitors to report status. I'm not entirely sure I understood what he meant (language barrier).

There is NO mention of readiness monitor or how to complete a drive cycle in the Emission section of the Factory Service Manual for diesel equipped 2005-06 vehicles.

Did find this, https://repairpal.com/estimator/jeep/li ... -test-cost

Did they tell you which monitors were not ready?

WWDiesel: Living through nightmare of setting Liberty CRD monitors right now.

DMV inspection due in 3 days. Replaced burned out glowplug and cleared codes last Sunday.

So far have put 305 miles on Jeep and got 4 monitors set....but don't know how many are suppose to be set to pass DMV.
Now know should have recorded monitors before clearing codes.
Did not expect there to be ZERO information anywhere on what OBD2 monitors are used on Liberty CRD or correct drive cycle to set monitors.

Have asked on another post for anybody with Liberty CRD and fully set OBD2 monitors to hook up OBD2 reader and list in letters/monitors are suppose to be set.

Can set all monitors in my GMC K1500 in 100 miles during a single day.
Did not expect Liberty CRD to be so difficult

Just got done getting OBD2 monitors set after disconnecting battery, replacing glow plug, and clearing old codes.

use drive cycle procedure at
https://justsmogs.com/2014/01/chrysler- ... -monitors/

took 305 miles, but it worked.

Only 4 OBD2 monitors are used. On my OBD2 they are letters: M, F, CC and E.
