Anyone ever swap a Dana 44 into the rear of their Liberty?

Looking for something with better gearing and locker options. Wondered what kind of work swapping to a Dana 44 would be. Thinking shock and spring mounts would have to come off the 8.25, and the top diff housing mounts.

Not sure what "better" gearing or locker options you will get with a Dana 44, unless you have parts already for the 44 the amount of work and money involve in this swap imo will offset the "better gearing or locker option".

If you are to swap the rear end you might as well ditch the boomerang and design a proper 4 links system with more suspension travel......

Now you need to do something about the front as well, SFA would be great !!

Oh there are loads of options for the Dana 44. But you’re probably right in with the idea of ditching the wishbone and going to a true 4 link.

On the SFA…. Should have don’t that when I put the lift on. Ended up waiting a LONG time for the parts anyway. Only thing is I don’t have a proper shop to do that work.
