Trying to gauge interest to determine if there is enough demand to order a group purchase of Custom Manley ‘Extreme Duty’ Inconel Exhaust Valves for the Jeep CRD engine.

Manley’s Extreme Duty valves are manufactured from the company’s unique XH-432 Xtreme Alloy (Inconel material and proprietary heat-treat process)
The Manley Valves are made of a much stronger alloy than the OEM valves so after replacement you would never have to worry about exhaust valve failures (breakage) again.
(Requires 8 exhaust valves)

Please respond to survey questions

Let me know if I can be of any help on this effort. I'd possibly be interested in stocking them.

This was done over 2 years ago by Git it Garage. Just talk to Neil at Manley. We had a nice talk. Someone called yesterday. I filled him in on what is going on and why the sudden interest. The part number 11265-8 is a blank valve. It is not finished. I have order a valve to send to Manley so they can spec it out and tell me the price and lead time. Once I get the info back from Manley I'll post it here. I will run point on this to save everyone time and some of the expenses. . I'll find out how many serious inquiries there are and have them machined at the same time. I'm thinking 1-3 weeks It will bring down the price but I don't know how much yet.
synthetic-oil, did you ever receive any pricing back from Manleyfor the Inconel exhaust valves and / or how many sets would have to be ordered to get some price reductions.
Be nice to have some kind of price break down if possible to move ahead on this.
The survey shows we have 10 committed owners wanting the Inconel exhaust valves, so that would be an order of 80 valves hopefully for starters!

Seth, have you reached out to Manley to find out how many sets of Inconel exhaust valves you would have to order and at what price you could sale them for each?
Survey shows quite a bit of interest in making this happen.

Pre orders with payments could be collected to get the ball rolling on this project hopefully if we only knew the prices so the correct amount of money could be collected including taxes.

This is another source we might could reach out to for pricing for Inconel exhaust valves:> SUPERTECH PERFORMANCE Products

Ok everyone this will take a little time to get done. They currently don't even have the material in stock. These are made to order and depending on how many other jobs are in the Que as to when they will start the run. They valves will be 80 bucks a piece. However the guy I'm currently working with will ask about a discount when the logistics is done. I should have more info on Tuesday on ETA of more Inconel and lead times.

Hopefully that price will come way down if we can place an order of around 80 valves as they originally charged Michael $57.28 ea. for his 8 valve order?

Called Manley today. Because of Labor Day and some people being out they don't have all the info I requested. As soon as I get the info I want I will post and hopeful will answer all your question.

Update:
From Neil at Manley Valves wrote:
They only have enough material on hand to make one set of 8 and they are already sold.
It takes about three weeks to get a set of 8 built.
Hopefully once they receive enough orders, (were hoping eighty valves or so?) they would run them all at once if they have enough material.
He said it takes them about eight weeks to get the material in to make them.
He stated he is going to see what kind of discount he can get for all of us.

updates when we know more!

This is the good news bad news message. The good is Manley is willing to give a discount on 10 sets, 80 valves or more. The bad is the material is on a slow boat. Manley doesn’t want to quote as price until they have the material in their inventory due to increased cost in materials and shipping. There ETA is 6 – 8 weeks, but because of supply chain issues this can easily get pushed out.

If someone wants to try and locate another custom valve company here is the minimum specs that the valve blanks will have to have to be able to have enough material to finish the valves.

Max Head Diameter 39.0mm / 1.535
Steam Diameter 5.96mm / .2345
Max Length 121.9mm / 4.800
Underhead angle/radius 25° x 11/32”
Margin .080
Seat Width.100
Top of Head 20° Dish

I talked to Manley this morning. Enough blanks were ordered to make 100 valves, but still no date on when they will receive them. I will check back with them periodically to see when they receive the blanks.

As suggested, this thread is solely for the purchase of custom Manley Exhaust Valves, Please keep all other valve failure discussions concerning causes & solutions in the topic: Exhaust Valves
All posts that were not pertaining to Manley valve purchase have been moved to the Topic: Exhaust Valves! Use the link above to view them.
