Post subject:  Does anybody know what these codes mean?

I’m hoping there are still some crd enthusiasts on here. I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty that I just purchased a few months back. When I bought it from the previous owner I could tell they didn’t know what they were doing. They dropped the tank to install a new fuel pump when there was never an intake fuel pump in the first place. They claimed it needed a new fuel pump to run but I knew that wasn’t the problem. The problem was the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail. I added an in tank lift pump from a Dodge Cummins to solve the air in fuel issue, replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor and the engine now runs great. The only problems I have now are the cruise not working and the steering is sketchy. The ESP, ABS, traction control light’s are all on. It seems to shake and wander really bad on the highway. I’ve read the steering angle sensor can cause this to happen. I was just about to take it into the shop for a steering alignment tomorrow. Would problems with a steering angle sensor cause it to shake and wander between 60-80mph? Maybe I should cancel the alignment and look into the steering angle codes. I plugged in my new scanning tool and this is what came up. There was 2 categories. Active codes and stored codes.

Active codes:
C102B Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

Stored codes:
U0002 CAN C Bus Off Performance

These last 2 came up as stores steering angle sensor codes:

U0141 Lost Communication
With IPM (FCM/TIPM
Front Control Module/
Totally Integrated Power
Module)

U0121
Lost Communication
With Anti-Lock Brake
Module

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2006 models do not have a Front Module, only 05 models have that module.
I would suggest fixing the ABS wheel speed sensor before anything else, it could be causing the issue.

See Group 8W- Section 56- Page 2 In the 2006 Factory Service Manual for the wiring for the Steering Angle Sensor.
Sensor-Steering Angle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 8W-56-2
It communicates with the Body Control Module via the Can C bus. So if you are having communication problems with the Can C Bus, that could also be part of the problem.

There are some troubleshooting guides and wiring diagrams in the FSM.
