Hi there! I need some advice with my KJ before I start to buy new/used parts etc. 


Jeep Cherokee KJ 2006 2.8 CRD // NV242 // 545RFE

Forgive me my technical english, will try to explain it as clear as I can.

Got some problems with transfer case. There is no front wheel drive when in PartTime and 4LO but in Full Time everything is working fine.
Additionally, when in 4LO Jeep is getting some big (in my opinion) vibrations when in stop with brake. It disappears when in move.

Apart from that there is no other strange noise. No clicking, rattling, clanking, breaking. Tcase lever (one inside car) is shifting fine, without problems, lights on the desk are ok.

 Haven’t checked the shifting cable yet cause I don’t own garage and it’s already @$#% freazing and dark in the evening where I live.
Additionally, I know the first owner of this KJ and he tells me he only used full time from the beginning during winters. The fluid was chocolate brown when I checked :/ only changed part of it, wasn’t prepared.

Soooo, should I buy new/used transfer case straight away, or maybe there is a chance that this is repairable easy? All best!
