Hey all- I’m in the process of rebuilding my engine. Currently trying to reinstall the crank assembly. So trying to get in touch with the few folks who have completely torn down the 2.8l to the crank. I struggled to get the old crank out of the block as the journal bearing support halves that are attached to the crank assembly make it a bear to get the assembly out of the block. The engine manual makes it sound like it just slides out and in, which is not my experience. So not sure why mine was so stubborn coming out and now is proving to be just as stubborn to go back in. Any advice or tricks for accomplishing this step by those who have actually done this level of work would be greatly appreciated.

I remember when Dean was doing his, he put the block out in the sun for the afternoon to warm it up a bit. The first 3/4 of his clicking & clanking thread is a must read for anyone doing a rebuild.
