The other day she started, then quit after 10 seconds, then started again after several tries. Same again today, but won’t start back up. I’m guessing it’s a gunked up fuel filter, no lift pump. No new errors (there’s a glow plug error, but that’s been there forever and it isn’t cold here). Fuel is low, but not out. Any recommendations to get her started again? And recommendations for a lift pump? I was going to put a few more gallons in the tank with some fuel system cleaner….

Have you ever replaced the crankshaft position censor, it could be causing your problem?
As to the fuel filter,
Replace the fuel filter, use the manual pump on the filter head to bleed all air out of the system before trying to start. Fill the new fuel filter with fresh clean fuel or Power Service Diesel Kleen fuel system cleaner before installing and bleeding the new filter.

As to an intank fuel pump, there are several options.
If you don't want to modify your current wiring harness from under the rear seat to the top of the fuel tank, you can purchase a turn key ready harness and fuel pump module from SasquatchParts.com.
If you are willing to add two wires to your existing wiring harness from the bulk connector under the rear seat to the top of the new intank fuel pump module,
The wire ends are available from Mouser Electronics:>
See this web page for full install instructions:> http://www.auerbach.ca/kj/lift_pump/default.html

Wire Terminals: Aptiv APEX (formerly Delphi) 2.8 Series Terminals 16 AWG to 14 AWG Bulk Automotive Connectors.
2 female and 1 male pins required & one 1/4" ring terminal for ground wire to body under rear seat
male, 14-16 gauge wire -- 54001801 (male).
female, 14-16 gauge wire -- 54001800 (female)
Purchase wire ends here:> https://www.mouser.com/Connectors/Autom ... 28-Series/

New intank fuel pump modules can be purchased many places including online, just be sure a get a good quality name brand one, and not a cheap chinaism knockoff.
Personally, I am running the Carter, you can find them online including Amazon. Link:> Carter Electric Fuel Pump Module Assembly 12V (P76148M)

Recommended intank Fuel Pumps:

    Airtex E7181M
    CARTER P76148M
    Delphi # FG1224

Thanks, Ive been recommended to replace the fuel filter and water separator, are they separate units on these? Would the Crank sensor throw a code if it were causing the issue?

The fuel filter and water separator is one single unit combined. Be sure and use only a name brand fuel filter and not a cheap unit.
Also, when changing the fuel filter be sure neither of the two rubber gaskets does not stick to the filter head and you end up with two gaskets when installing the new fitler, see picture.
Mopar 52129238AA
Wix 33647, NAPA 3647 - L-D Fuel Filter

In most cases when the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) fails, it does not set a DTC (diagnostic trouble code/check engine light)
Usually fails during the engine warm up cycle, but not exclusively.

Update, I pumped the primer a few times, she started, stalled, then on the second time kept running. Think its safe to say it is a fuel supply issue and not the CPS?

Please consider adding the intank lift fuel pump, it is one of the best mods you can do to these vehicles and it will cure air in fuel issues forever. : :SOMBRERO:
They should have come standard from the factory with them already installed as standard equipment but they cheaped out to save a few dollars. :banghead: :furious:

Yes, I have wanted to do that for a while, guess this is more incentive! Thanks for all your help, WW.
