Roughly 10k miles on my Sasquatch ProVent 200, and I finally changed the filter. Inside, there was a thick, black sludge formed on top of the filter, by the CCV tube port...

And more down at the bottom near the drain tube port.


Has anyone else come across stuff this thick in their ProVents? It was like 45 degrees F yesterday, so not nearly cold enough to gel oil, and my drain tube was working as normal, holding a bit of black oil and water. Is my CCV puck slowly dissolving and migrating into the ProVent? Is there black licorice in my valve cover? Any ideas appreciated as always!

Never seen or found anything like that in my ProVent filter either. Only find a few ounces of black oil collected in bottom of housing when I drain it every so often.
