Looks like the engine must have lost oil pressure on #1 rod bearing?
The bottom end of these engines are pretty robust, and dirty oil or oil starvation is about the only thing that will cause a rod failure since there was no top end damage.
Left you a comment about the fallacies and detrimental effects of keeping an EGR system in service.
All that talk about it needing to be in place to provide a blowoff valve is mostly hogwash!
Think about all these engines running around for well over 15 or 20 years now with NO EGR in place and not a single person has posted anything about having any issues by NOT having an EGR system in service other than for government required inspections. EGR is a known engine killer!
