Is the SunCoast TC still available? I guess Euro one or Florida Torque Converter would be a good backup.

I see Sasquatch says straight from Suncoast but Suncoast website doesn't list it.

When I search the oil pump a Mopar site comes up which says doesn't fit the CRD 2.8. ID parts shows this, I think the Mopar info is wrong but says it crosses or supercedes your number?

https://www.idparts.com/transmission-oi ... -7534.html

Always fun researching parts :/

Don't use the euro, several owners who purchased and installed them have reported they did not hold up and the engine torque slipped (TC shuddered) in TC lockup.
Certainly Not worth the risk! :banghead:
SunCoast don't list them on their website anymore, but they still supply them. Simply call them by phone and order the part number.
Less expensive by ordering directly from them.

Suncoast -- CRD-1ES TC
Stock Mopar OEM TC is rated for 300 ft. lbs. max (406 Nm)
Mopar Euro TC is rated for 400 ft. lbs. max (~ 542 Nm)
Hemi TC is rated for? (have not found a rating for it) (Stall speed 2300 rpms)
Suncoast CRD-1ES TC is rated for 600 ft. lbs. max (813 Nm) (Stall speed 1900 rpms)

The "R" in front of the part number simply means that it it "Remanufactured" vs a brand new part.
Transmission front pump 68009879AB (RL009879AF)

Thanks for additional info. This was the mopar site why does it say it won’t fit? Want to make sure the part number is right. Who is a good supplier of oil pump?

Both of them are the correct part numbers, new and remanufactured.
IDParts is a great place to purchase.
Any good transmission rebuilder shop should be able to supply you with a new or reman front pump assembly and updated cover plate.
The 545RFE is a very common transmission that was used in hundreds of thousands of Dodge and Jeep vehicles.

I use ID parts a lot. I was concerned that mopar site said it doesn’t fit though. I guess they are mistaken?

I also wanted a new one which ID doesn’t offer. There may only be remanufactured out there.

I live out in the country, nowhere near transmission shops ;)

There are some new ones available online, but they are very pricey!
Probably nothing wrong with the rebuilt one from IDParts.
In some cases, rebuilt parts can be better than new ones if they bore out the bores and insert steel sleeves in the aluminum housing.

I still don't understand. This one is cheaper than the rebuilt ID parts one, and its new? Does it have the correct front cover plate? That plate comes with the new pump and remanufactured ones

Pay attention to what they have listed! They list the following for the Jeep Liberty 2.8 diesel vehicle:
It says the PN 5073004AF (most likely the OLD pump version) has been "Replaced By": 68009879AF (this is true!)

Then they list the updated part number right below the above part number and say it is not available:
R8009879AE PUMP KIT Transmission oil Remanufactured CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE

All the Mopar sites online say 68009879AF is no longer available! :banghead:
The remanufactured pump, R8009879AE, is listed online by quite a few vendors, but the prices are all similar to IDParts.

Google this part number, 68009879AF, there are a few of them still showing as available?????
or
Google the reman part number, R8009879AE, lots of listings for it!
:google:

Yea. I don’t understand all that. But I did ask them and it isn’t available, lol. So just got the ID parts one. As far as I can tell there are no new ones available anywhere. eBay or nothing. I don’t understand all the variations. The one you listed ends in AB which isn’t the ID parts one either.
