A recent post caught my eye asking if there was a replacement for solenoid 04606226AC. Seems not to be his issue so the thread steered to a different direction.

I've been searching for that part off and on and was wondering if anyone had found a cross reference part yet? Or a suitable substitute, other than the suggested bypass option.

Use a universal 12v switching solenoid like this one:
There are plenty of 12v vacuum solenoids available on Amazon for cheap.

You could rig one of them up to work until you get the correct part? Just be sure and get one that is normally closed.
It is just a simple open/closed valve. Power is applied to it (open) when you turn the key to the on/run position.
