Were skid plates an option? Or came on certain models?

Are CRD skid plates the same as gassers?

I'd like to have a tranny and fuel tank plate but every KJ I check in the Pull-A-Part is naked.

Thanks,

I made my own out of some 1/8" sheet metal. The factory ones are not made out of very thick metal!

Dimensional drawing of my home made skid plate:

The skid plates are the same for the gasser and CRDs. If you can find them they will bolt right up. At most you will need to install rivnuts or nutzerts for the bolts to tighten too.

Like WW did, I too made a skid plate for the transmission and transfer case. But I have the engine skid plate and gas tank skid plate from a gasser and used them on my CRD.

Good to know that gassers are the same but I've checked the ones when I'm in the yard and no luck yet.

I do have a 1/4" piece of aluminum I was considering using. I'll take your dimensions WW and see if it is wide enough.

Thanks folks,
