More than likely your CP3 is starving for fuel on the suction side due to a vacuum leak somewhere on the suction side of the fuel system.
When this happens, the CP3 injection pump cannot provide the proper high pressure rail pressure and thus starve the fuel injectors of proper fuel injection when under higher loads.
Best solution, install the intank low pressure fuel pump which will adequately keep the CP3 supplied at all times with plenty of fuel and prevent any air ingestion into the low pressure side of the fuel system.
An abundance of air sucked into the fuel system over time can destroy your CP3 injection pump or the fuel injections. They DO NOT like air in the fuel, that is why the programing in the ECM is putting you into limp mode, trying to get your attention!
