So after having run into this error code before a couple of years ago, things have been pretty OK for until recently. On one of my 06 CRDs, it is throwing a P0093 all the time now. I have even taken to driving around with my code reader so I can clear it when I am out and about. No other codes other than the P0093, basically listed as "massive fuel leak", which I don't think it is. So I wanted to ask here what to check next. A couple years back when this was cropping up, several suggested that I install an in tank fuel pump. It probably would fix the air in fuel filter issue, which was pretty bad back then, but isn't now. Not saying the hand pump on the filter is solid when this happens, but it only takes maybe 5-8 pumps to get it there (was many more several years ago). If it all is due to leaking air, I'll put in the tank pump, but before I do I wanted to run thru what other test I can/should do to be sure that's the problem. Here are the symptoms: The engine starts and runs very nicely, good power (when not in limp mode after a code is thrown), no fuel leaks I can detect. The P0093 happens typically when I am hitting the go pedal for more fuel. Most of the time starting from a stop or just after, but sometimes when I try to pass on a hill or the like. If I was really hitting the go pedal the engine might die, but usually it doesn't, and I just drive home like a granny. Lately with this one CRD, the code can come back after clearing it, after just a few 100' of driving. Always restarts, but will be in limp mode until cleared. No other symptoms I've noticed. So here is the data my code reader pulled from the most recent incident: P0093 Calc Load 59.2% ECT 185F MAP 32 inHg RPM 1600 Speed 8mph IAT 163F MAF 5.07 lbs/min Fuel Press 10768 Anyone see anything here that looks suspicious? Is that fuel pressure good? TIA |

I hear you WW. Just trying to make sure that is the problem. Dud you look at the recorded fuel pressure, is it in range or low? |
