What is the stock gas tank size on a 2003 Liberty Sport? And also what should my approx. MPG be? Thanks

I believe 2003 is a 19.5 gallon tank. Since yours is a 2wd you should get better mpg, say around 19-20 stock (no lift, bigger tires, etc...)

My 03 has an 18.5 gallon tank. MPG changes on me. Used to be 18 city and 24ish stock. Those days are looooong gone.

I know this an old post but can anyone verify the OP question since there are two opposing answers above? I too have an 03 Sport 3.7L 4x4 and was wondering about the actual size of the tank?
Thanks up front!
Dave

It has an 18.5 gal tank as well. 2002-2003 has an 18.5 gal tank, 2004 has an 19.5 gal tank, and 2005+ have a 20.5 gal tank.

Could just be that your wife fills it up earlier. Usually I put anywhere from 17.8-19 gal of gas in my tank when the light goes on.

True. Mine is 18.5, but when the light comes on and the needle is in the red, I only fit a hair over 15 gallons in the tank. Hadn't checked my mileage in the longest time. Been running Amsoil oil for the last 12K and added their drop in air filter about 1k ago. With the stock tires on I was stoked to get 17.8 mpg on the last fill up.

I do miss mileage like that for normal driving. Sometimes I wish I bought a CRD in HI rather than my Renegade. Although my KJ was the last 4x4 on the island.
