paid $2.73 per gallon this morning here in San Diego. I noticed an hour later the price in Orange County (Mission Viejo) is $2.82 for regular and just over $3.00 for premium.

$2.79-$2.95 on Oahu. This is the cheapest island, it's been over $3 on other islands for a long time now. Thank god I can buy on base which is usually at least $0.10 cheaper.

last time I bought gas was $2.59 for 87 octane

Just found this.

"Hawaii became the first state in the nation to take government action against rising gasoline prices today, placing a cap on wholesale gas prices starting Sept. 1 to prevent what legislators see as price gouging on the islands."

http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CNB ... 127509.asp

Could be good or bad.

We are now at $2.75 cheapest to $2.96 highest. That is for regular unleaded. Now the news said that with the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mex getting torn up by the hurricane that prices will be going up even faster. We may break the $4.00 mark by X-mass. I think the gov should put a cap on price before it's too late!!!!

I have lived here in The Dalles, Oregon for 8 years and gas has always been back down by this time of year in the past. It has always gone up in April & May, stayed high in the summer, then starts dropping after July.

In Jan. & Feb. 2003 we were $1.55 - June 2003 $1.85 - Jan. & Feb. 2004 $1.75 - June 2004 $2.25 (people went nuts) - Jan. & Feb. 2005 $1.70 - June 2005 $2.25 (oh my god it's over $2.00 again). Lets see 07/26/05 $2.39 - 08/07/2005 $2.56 - 08/17/05 $2.70 - 08/29/05 $2.75 - 08/30/05 "today" $2.82. These are the cheapest prices in town!!!!! Super is already past $3.25 the last time I had the nerve to look

I can almost bet regular will be well past $3.00 by the end of Sept if not sooner.

WHEN WILL IT STOP?????

$20.00 Gall ????

Here on base in Iceland $2.39 per gallon  off base on the local economy = $6.80 per gallon.

Things are little more expensive over here.
