I paid 2.92 for regular unleaded in AZ :o ...I got cut off at the pump before my tank was full, at $50.00. I am not going to wait until empty again, I am filling up once I go down to 3/4 of a tank. I think I am going to walk or bike to work, it is only 3/4 of a mile from where I live...

here in france in all tv, radio news, their spoke about the the up price of the gallons. Not very good news.

But imagine i do some calculation

If i'm right 1 gallon = 3,8 french litres

Here we paid the gasoil by litre

For diesel, we cand find between 1,02 to 1,20-1,25 euros by litres

1 gallon = 3,8 l x 1,10 euros = 4,18 euros about 5,22 dollars

pfff, you are far away from us

But i understand that your are more km/miles by year than us - in general

Cheapest I saw today, $3.89 for unleaded in the city of Chicago. Well over $4.00+ for premimum. I heard today that Atlanta & Chicago are the hardest hit regions regarding price gouging.

The other night when I filled up it was $2.79/gallon; next day as I drove by the sign said $2.99  Checking on the web I can find anything from $2.65-$3.50 in the Phoenix area. Bus is starting to look real good right now (smell is another matter)

I wish you Americans would switch to Litres. Trying to do the gallon to litre then US/Canada conversion is a nightmare. :)

I paid CA$90.4 per litre last week. Now at CA$1.14 litre.

Yeh. This is Canada, not Europe. :)

BTW I bet at some point soon the US switches to litres. The UK did it just as prices would have hit 2.00 per gallon. Suddenly it was like 0.60 per litre or whatever. Makes it look cheaper on the pump price. :)

UK prices are 97.9p per litre and set to go up to £1.00 per litre by the end of the week. That is:

3.8 x 1.84 (todays exchange rate) = $6.99

NOW STOP WINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are still much better off than us.

Ian

We do have alot more land to drive over though :-( Well the Canadians too. I live in Hawaii and I still drive alot :-( Public transportation is terrible in most of the US.

Gas prices were $3.22 to $3.41 in Hawaii today. I bought it for $3.05 on base.

Here in Farmington, New Mexico, regular unleaded went from about $2.65 to $3.19 in the few days after the hurricane. What irritates me is that the local oil/gas guys who are my customers are telling me that none of our gasoline in this area comes from crude oil! It all comes from the "drip gas" that comes up with the natural gas, and is considered a byproduct of the natural gas business that is THE major industry here. There is a gasoline refinery about 6 miles from my house, in Bloomfield, and they process NO crude there, just this "drip gas". I am told the one in Gallup is the same.

Apparently, Giant Industries, which has a lock on the local gasoline biz, and owns the refineries in both Bloomfield and Gallup, is just charging whatever the national average is, because they can. Their supply of "drip gas" was in no way affected by the hurricane.

The only good news it that the price has fallen back to about $3.05 at the lowest places. OPEC announced yesterday that they are pumping a million barrels a day OVER demand. There is no oil shortage. It's not gonna be long before we see this increase hit us in the pocketbook for everything, not just a fill up at the pump.

You can be sure I have written all my representatives, federal and state, about this B.S. I urge everyone to do the same.
