Gas Mileage

Just calculated my gas mileage, what a shame!

14.4 mpg FTL! That includes speedo recalibration for the larger tires. About 75% of it was on the Mass Pike :twisted:

What do you guys get, search function used, nothing found.

not a diss to you donnie, but i still can't believe it when people here are like

OMG I can't believe my JEEP get such poor gas mileage. All I did was lift it, put on bigger, heavier off-road tires!!!! I can't believe it :shock:

i feel like i'm takin figgin crazy pills

x2,heck I would love 14mpg,better then the 9mpg-11mpg I get.

IMO, i'd rather a full size truck for a tow rig if i got 10 mpg in a liberty.

but i was disappointed with my last few tanks only about 16/17 and that was with a fair amount of highway. and its pretty much stock.

I understand what you mean, totally. Looking at my Jeep getting 14.4 doesn't really bother me. What bothers me is the fact that massive trucks with v8s get better gas mileage than me. My dad has a Crew Cab 4x4 5.7 Ram that gets 15 mpg.

is my kj broken??? i got 21 this last tank, mostly city too! i seem to hover in the 18-23 range. i figured the cold weather would take it down a few but i guess not

actually i used to get aroudn 20 more regularly, just not recently, probably just the wear on sensors. or maybe my rear end is getting ready to explode again.

Last tank was 19.2mpg. All stock plus the complete tow package (except the front hooks) with an AMSoil air filter and the 17" wheels with 235/65r17s. I was getting a bit better than that until the last couple fills so I am thinking winter grade gas has hit the stations. Of course I don't even know if they use winter grade fuel in Virginia? Do the refineries completely change over for the whole country or just selected areas? Anybody?

Because engine-wise, we have 2 pounds of doo doo in a 10 pound bag.

You try pushin around a 4,500 pound vehicle (mine is 4600 with me in it). you'd use up a lotta stored energy to make that kinetic energy, too...and Andre the Giant wouldn't use as much.

I know ya probably don't want to hear this but I been gettin 24 to 27 MPG all around . Haven't checked seen I unplugged the MAF .I guess dad did know something he was talking about and that is you only get what you pay for . Cost a bit more in the beginning but I'm slowly getting it back. LOVE MY CRD !!!

I was getting 12.5mpg in the summer with the a/c on. Recently been getting about 14.8, been driving slower too.

What does it matter if big truck gets the same mpg? If you wanted a truck that got 15mpg then you should of gotten one? Instead, you have a Jeep that gets 15mpg and can take you pretty much anywhere you need to go.

I get around 18-20mpg HW with the lift and tires.

15mpg city which is what Ive always gotten, even when it was stock.

Just remember when people with the "Big Truck" spew out..."I get 28MPG on the highway going 75 mph...they are dreaming". Also, when they spit out a "1 tank" calculations, it is useless information. 1 gallon difference can make all the difference in mpg calculations.

There are some easy ways to track your mileage over a period of time...the only good way...and make it a "game". I am over at GasSavers.org and my mileage has gone up. Mostly from ficing the "nut behind the wheel". Set up a garage and start inputing your fillups...read the forum...and modify your driving style. Also realize that 16mpg city would be a good target to shoot for with a 3.7L lifted and bigger tires. Highway, you just have to slow down. The aerodynamics (420 Cd) really hurt you over 64 mph.

I have used GPS more than once to figure milage
and we get about 20 highway

Back in Kansas I could consistently get 21-23 mpg highway. Of course, Kansas highways are some of the flattest highways you'll ever see!
