I'm feeling a little green and wondering of the biofeul is Ok to usein the liberty. Too lazy to check the manual :D and coulnd;t see an answer easily on LOST search of google

Thanks!

EDIT: Manual stated 10% ethanol is fine, I would think 85 would be permissible ??

Nope, the dealer says it isn't. I figured as such given you need to have pretty much corrosion resistant everything as far as the injection system goes. The plastic gas tank, gas lines, injectors, etc would need to be different. Keep in mind E85 is close to being alcohol.

The liberty was not designed for that much alcohol. Even if you get lucky and the wet parts are the correct materials of construction and you dont corrode everything, the Liberty was not designed for that much alcohol and the computer will not compensate for the lower BTU's in the fuel. What this means is that you will be essentially runing lean and could seriously damage the engine. The E-85 in a vehicle designed for it will get 20 percent worse fuel economy, this is because the computer is dumping more fuel into the cylinders to compensate for the lower BTU's.
