how far have you gone with your low fuel light on before getting gas?

i am no looking for the smart stupid that is going to say "till my gas was gone". what i am asking is how many miles have you driven once it has tured on.

the longest i have driven after my light has come on was 5 to 10 miles not much further. just the distence to my local gas station.

I actually drove for about 30 miles once with the light on and the car stalled (I s*$@ you not) at the pump. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

My light comes on at around 15 miles left. Drove 40 miles past zero once (highway averaging around 20mpg). Tried it the other day and it stalled out at 30 (city averaging around 16). Lucky I was across the street from a station (and on top of a hill!) So it looks like my reserve is exactly 2 gallons. Normal fill up around 17-17.5 gallons. After I stalled it took the full 19.5.
PS, if u are low on gas DO NOT park driver side down hill! I guess it sucks fuel from the passenger side.

If I understand correctly, I have an 18 or 18.5 gallon tank (can't remember exactly). If that's the case, then the light comes on when there is approximately 3 gallons of gas left in the tank as it usually takes 15 - 16 gallons to fill it back up and I'm pretty brave about driving after the light comes on and I've never been left stranded.

Just my two cents!

I ran my Jeep out of fuel before to test this out for you guys. I will post the results once more right here for you folks: My '02 with the 18.5 gallon tank got 53.7 miles after the light came on. Old Copperhead died on me right in front of a gas station (I swear its half human). It was a 50/50 mix of city and highway driving with a 18 year old male on the throttle (don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about). I wholeheartedly believe that 60 miles after the light can be achieved.
