I'm not sure where to put this, but the Mileage area seems like a good enough fit.

Has anyone taken off their roof rails to reduce drag?

How hard is it to do?

What gains have you seen after taking them off?

I'm thinking about taking mine off. I've used them once in the 2 years I've had my CRD. I figure I'll just store them in the garage for the rare occasions when I might actually use them.

I took off my rack and rails for a couple of weeks while I was measuring for a new rack and really didn't notice that much difference. I run my rack all the time and like I said have taken it off and on my regular weekend trip of 550 miles I saw maybe a difference of a gallon or so more used if that Of course I use my rack a lot so don't see the need to remove / replace / remove every other weekend
